Setting Notifications

In DATA WATCHER, you can set notifications when modeling a flow.

Hint!

"Flows are modeled in the DATAFLOW MODELER or opening a flow with the MODEL AS FLOW option."

In the Dataflow Properties panel, click Add in the Event Notification box. In the New notification pop-up select:

  • Name: this is an internal name assigned to the Event Notification.
  • Events: select the event or events for which you want emails to be sent.
  • Notification channels: the channel you want to use for your notification, the option are Embedded Broker Notification System and System Email Notification Channel.
  • Recipients (System Email Notification Channel only): enter the name of the single users or of the group (mailing list) that will receive the email relevant to the event or events specified in Events.

See below an example of Notifications set with the System Email Notification Channel.
In this example Buzz Aldrin and Neil Armstrong will receive an email informing them that the flow was completed successfully.

The Dataflow cut-off and the Node cut-off list sections let you set event notifications. To do so, click Add in the Event Notification box. Here, you can set the options according to your needs:

  • Name: this is an internal name assigned to the Event Notification.
  • Events: select the event or events for which you want emails to be sent. Cut-off error and cut-off warning events are available.
  • Notification channel: the channel you want to use for your notification, the option are Embedded Broker Notification System and System Email Notification Channel.
  • Recipients (System Email Notification Channel only): enter one or more valid email addresses that will receive the email relevant to the event or events specified in Events.

See below an example of Notifications set with the System Email Notification Channel.
In our example, a mailing list has been entered in the Recipients field and the entire crew will receive an email informing them that the cut-off has an error.
