Searching for files and folders

To search for files and folders in the File Manager, enter the term in the Search in edit box that is always available at the top of the screen.

As you can note, the label of the edit box automatically loads the name of the folder you are currently viewing and where files and folders will be searched.

As soon as you start typing, the term will be searched in all the fields shown.

All files and folders containing the searched term or the characters typed will be listed – even if the character or characters are not at the beginning of the term, as in the example below.
