STENG, Clusters and Servers

Are you wondering what a STENG Cluster is?

A STENG Cluster is a group of cooperating STENGs. Having a Cluster provides high availability and ensures that tasks are executed in parallel.

Where can I find STENG, Cluster and Servers?

The STENG, Clusters and Servers card gives a global view of the Clusters existing in the system, of the STENGs associated to each Cluster and of course of all servers deployed in the STENG. Here it is:

On the right, the General statistics card shows the number of Clusters, STENGs and Servers. For these 2, the number of those that are active out of the total is given as well.

In the configuration shown above, 3 clusters are associated to the STENG. When the box associated to the cluster is grey, the cluster status is unknown.

If you click a server, a new card will appear in the top-right corner listing the relevant details. The card also shows if the server is running or not and 2 buttons allow you to start or stop the server as needed.

The Stop action stops the STENG at function level but the JVM remains active.

To see the full list of Servers in a separate window, you can click the View All button.

Our Clusters, CEMAN and STENG must always be odd and must be at least 3 (each).

When you delete a STENG, all the servers configured on that STENG will be deleted as well without further notice!
