Export Flows

Extracting and analyzing flows at specific time periods is useful for meeting data monitoring and reporting requirements.

Steps

  1. To export flows, click the icon that you can find in multiple views.
  2. The Flows window will appear. This window has 2 different tabs:
    1. Export tab: Designed for immediate, on-demand data exports. It requires manual initiation each time data must be exported. Ideal for ad-hoc reports or when an immediate data snapshot is needed.
    2. Schedule Export tab: Intended to automate the export process on a recurring basis - daily, weekly or monthly. Once configured, Panorama will automatically perform the exports without requiring any further manual intervention. Best suited for regular reporting needs, where data must be consistently exported over time.
In either case, you can select a time period and apply filters to the dataflow you want to export.

Fill in the fields in the Export tab as follows:

  1. Period: The start and end dates are automatically filled in with the time period selected in the Flows section but you can easily change it selecting a different start date by clicking the From field and/or a different end date by clicking the To field.
  2. Filters: The filter selected in the Flows section is automatically filled in. If you want to export all data without any restrictions, ensure no filters are applied or click the Reset button to clear existing filters.
  3. Enable Email Notification (optional): If you want to receive an email notification when the export is complete, toggle the switch to enable it.
Note: If the email sender plugin is not set up, you will not be able to receive email notifications. This will be indicated by a warning message.
  4. Click the EXPORT button at the bottom of the screen. The system will process your request, and the export file will be prepared.

Once the export is complete, you can download the export file by clicking the Export chip on the top-right corner of the application.

Fill in the fields in the Schedule Export tab as follows:

  1. Click the Schedule export tab and select if you want to export them daily, weekly or monthly in the drop-down list.
  2. Panorama automatically fills in the filter selected in the Flows section. If you want to export all data without any restrictions, ensure no filters are applied or click the Reset button to clear existing filters.
  3. If you want the file to be sent via email when the export is complete, add the email address in the Send export to field and click the + button on the right.

If the email sender plugin is not set up, you will not be able to send the file. This will be indicated by a warning message.

  1. Click the SCHEDULE EXPORT button at the bottom of the screen. The system will process your request, and the export file will be prepared.
