What is File Routing - NEW! 🚀
File Routing is a powerful feature that allows you to streamline processes, reduce manual oversight, and enhance overall efficiency in file management.
It consists of specific rules dictating how files should be handled as they enter Data Mover. Each of these rules consists of a sequence of user-configured actions that are carried out in a predetermined order, ensuring consistent handling of files based on their metadata. Rules are displayed on the Routing Rules page with a sequential number that indicates the order of execution. After all actions have been applied, the output file will be put in a virtual path or will be bound to a virtual box specified by the user.
To ensure that each rule functions correctly, it is essential to configure at least one ACTION or OUTPUT. This is the minimum requirement to guarantee that the rule can effectively manage and route files.
