Events

The Settings → Configurations → Events section is used to configure the sending of events to an external system, such as Data Watcher or an external broker. The events sent are based on activities performed on Data Mover Smart.

To configure the connection to Data Watcher, fill in these fields:

• Data Watcher events emitter: enable this option to send events to Data Watcher. If you disable the option, the configuration will remain listed for future purposes.

• Data Watcher url: enter the base URL and port of your Data Watcher installation. E.g., https://www.yourdataWatcher.com:port.

• Data Watcher user: enter the username of the user having the admin role. You can leave this field empty and use the Data Watcher credential field below.

• Data Watcher password: enter the password of the user having the admin role. You can leave this field empty and use the Data Watcher credential field below.

• Data Watcher credential (optional): select a credential configured in Settings → Security → Credentials. Note that the credential must already exist, you cannot create a new credential on the Events section.

Once done, a restart of Data Mover Smart is required to activate the connection to Data Watcher.

To configure the connection to an external events emitter, fill in these fields:

• External Broker events emitter: enable this option to send events to the external emitter. If you disable the option, the configuration will remain listed for future purposes.

• External Broker url: enter the URL and port of the external emitter to which events will be sent.

• External Broker user: enter the external emitter admin username.

• External Broker password: enter the external emitter admin password.

• External Broker topic: enter the external emitter topic name.

Once done, a restart of Data Mover Smart is required to activate the connection to the external emitter.
