DMS

The DMS section under Settings → Import & Export allows you to manage the transfer of Data Mover Smart entities between environments.

This feature is organized into four tabs:

• Import

• Export

• Template

• Decrypt

Import tab

Use this tab to upload and integrate Data Mover Smart entities from a .dmsi file into your current environment.

1. Click the upload icon or drag the dmsi file into the interface. A preview of the file will be displayed.

2. In the upper section of the screen select a Storage Class from the list or click New to create one. Fill in the required fields as described on the Storage Class page.

3. Click Import.

4. After a successful import, a confirmation notification appears.

5. Click Close. The History page will open, listing the imported configuration as a row with useful details.

6. Click the three-dot menu on the right and select Summary to see the list of successfully imported entities and any errors encountered.

Export tab

Use this tab to download all existing Data Mover Smart entities as an encrypted .dmsi file for backup or migration purposes.

1. Click Export to download the .dmsi file containing all DMS entities. The encrypted file will be saved to your local directory.

2. After exporting, go to the History section to track and manage data packages.

To decrypt a .dmsi file, navigate to the Decrypt tab and upload it. Here, you can preview the decrypted content and copy it to your clipboard for further use.

Template tab 🚀

Use this tab to export only a subset of Data Mover Smart entities, instead of the entire configuration exported via the Export tab. This feature allows you to create one or more templates (containers) that group selected entities.

Templates can include entities from VFS, Folders, Links, Servers, Rules and File Event Listeners. The Add to Template option is available in these sections if the user has the required permissions.

To create and manage templates follow these steps:

1. Click New to create a template and assign it a name. The template will initially be empty.

2. To assign entities:

   • Navigate to the VFS, Folders, Links and Servers, Rules and File Event Listeners sections.

   • Select Add to Template for the desired entities.

3. Once entities are assigned, go to the Template tab.

4. Click the three-dot menu next to the template and select Edit. The assigned entities will be listed. To adjust selections, uncheck the box next to a section title to remove all items in that category and/or uncheck individual item boxes to exclude specific entities

1. Click Save to confirm your selections.

To export the template:

1. Click the three-dot menu next to the template.

2. Select Download to save the .dmsi file locally.

3. The exported file can then be imported into another Data Mover Smart installation using the Import option.

Decrypt tab 🚀

The .dmsi file exported from the Export tab is encrypted. You can use the Decrypt tab to upload the file and view its decrypted content, review the data and copy it to your clipboard for further use.
