Data Shaper disk space requirements and mandatory constraints

Data Shaper does not have any additional requirements on top of those stipulated for Data One 1.20 base bundle (see also Planning initial installation and master configuration).

Data One 1.20.15 is required.

Given that Data Shaper is an add-on for Data Mover base bundle, the underlying Data Mover system must be already operational, with a fully set up STENG cluster (see also Wiring your STENG cluster together), at the time Data Shaper is installed.

Disk space requirements

If you are updating an environment running Data Mover 1.20.12 or superior: disk space is not a requirement, minor changes are expected during the update phase.

If you are updating an environment running Data Mover older than 1.20.12: you should verify disk space availability. In case of updating a Data Mover between 1.20.6 and 1.20.12 the required disk space for every node (control node and each managed node) sums up to a maximum of 1Gb free space required for each node.

Verify that there is enough free space before beginning the installation.

Mandatory constraints

• The installation requires Java JDK 17 to be available on all managed nodes.

• A valid Data One license must be installed, with datashaper2 feature enabled.

• The DATAONE_HOME and DOIM_HOME directories must comply with the same layout and management constraints described in the Data Mover instructions.

• Ensure the STENG server is correctly configured and stopped before proceeding with unpacking and setup.
