Installing Data Mover Smart Gateway from scratch

To install the Data Mover Smart Gateway from scratch, there's no need to stop the Data Mover Smart.

Follow these steps:

1. Extract the contents of the installer package in the <installer_folder>.

2. Copy the Data Mover Smart Gateway package (dmsgw-1.0.0-linux.tar.gz or dmsgw-1.0.0-win.tar.gz) into the <installer_folder>/repo folder - see The repository folder section for details.

3. Run the setup script from the installer folder:

   1. For Linux: ./setup.sh

   2. For Windows: .\setup.bat

4. Choose option 2 to select dms gateway.

5. Choose option 1 to install dms gateway from scratch.

6. Start the installation.

7. When asked "Do you want to install this version?" answer y.

8. Insert these setup parameters or leave them blank to apply the default:

   1. The Gateway command listening port. Default is 1239.

   2. The Gateway command listening address. Default is the local host, you can also enter the hostame/IP.

   3. The Local Controller port. Default is 7774.

9. When asked "Do you want to start the application after installation?" answer as you prefer.

The application will be installed in the dmsgw-app folder at the same level as the <installer-folder>.

Uploading the license

After completing the Data Mover Smart Gateway installation, go to the Data Mover Smart URL to upload the license:

<protocol>:<host>:<port>/dms/

Then, enter Data Mover Smart with the “admin” user.

Checking that the installation is successful

Once you upload the license, verify the installation by visiting the Data Mover Smart URL and logging in with the "admin" username.

Click the logo in the upper-left corner. In the stand-alone window, verify that FT DMZ is set to true.
