# Example use cases

This section provides a set of practical examples demonstrating how the platform can be used in different operational scenarios.

Each use case represents a common situation that organizations may encounter when managing Data Mover environments. The examples illustrate how platform features support monitoring, operational decision-making, and business continuity by combining technical information with real operational procedures.

The examples included in this section cover different levels of operational criticality:

* [Handle a non-critical reporting flow failure](/panorama-2.0.1/operational-resilience/example-use-cases/handle-a-non-critical-reporting-flow-failure.md) describes a reporting process with limited business impact and shows how a simple manual contingency procedure can be used when the automated flow is unavailable.
* [Handle a critical payment transmission failure](/panorama-2.0.1/operational-resilience/example-use-cases/handle-a-critical-payment-transmission-failure.md) presents a high-priority financial integration where service continuity is essential. The example illustrates a complete contingency workflow, including retries, backup communication channels, manual execution, stakeholder notifications, and validation activities.
* [Monitor and optimize the Operational Risk Surface](/panorama-2.0.1/operational-resilience/example-use-cases/monitor-and-optimize-the-operational-risk-surface.md) demonstrates how Operational Risk Surface cards help identify inactive or unused components, enabling administrators to keep the environment clean, efficient, and aligned with actual usage.

Although the scenarios are fictional, they reflect realistic operational situations and are intended to illustrate recommended practices for configuration governance, incident response, and contingency management within a Data Mover environment.
