# Transfers Period

The **Transfers Period** card shows the trend of transfers over a given time period.

Given a time frame, the graph shows on the Y-axis the number of transfers, or bytes, or the time it has taken to transfer successful flows or flows in error.

For detailed instructions on how to create this card, refer to [Create a Card](/panorama-2.0.1/cards/create-a-card.md).

If you move the mouse over the bar, a tooltip with detailed data will be displayed.

The figure above shows the **Transfers Period** bar chart, which displays two types of bars:

* **Green bars** representing successful transfers
* **Red bars** representing failed transfers

Each bar corresponds to a specific time unit on the **X‑axis**, while the **Y‑axis** displays the aggregated metric (count, size, or time), depending on the selected view.

The label on the X‑axis changes dynamically based on the dashboard’s time filter set at the top-right of Panorama, in the calendar option ![](/files/1BKpR3xQg533A71NrdRZ):

* **Hourly:** time (minutes)
* **Daily:** time (hours)
* **Weekly:** days of the week
* **Monthly:** days of the month
* **Yearly:** months

The Y‑axis label updates according to the selected sheet:

* **Count:** displays the *Total transfers*
* **Bytes:** displays the *Total size*
* **Time:** displays the *Total time*

In the example shown, the X‑axis represents **days of the month**, and the Y‑axis is set to **Total time**, as indicated by the highlighted selection in the upper‑right corner (“Count”, “Bytes”, “Time”).

If you move the mouse over the bar, a tooltip with detailed data will be displayed. Clicking on the highlighted graph column opens the **Transport** details window described in **Table view** below.

## Card menu options

Clicking the 3 dots button in the upper right corner of the card, the following options will appear.

### Settings

* **Show direction:** this option controls whether the chart displays transfer results separated by their **direction** (IN/OUT) or combined into a single total. It is disabled by default.

 When the toggle is **ON**, separate bars (and legend entries) will be shown for:

 * **IN – Success**
 * **IN – Error**
 * **OUT – Success**
 * **OUT – Error**

 When the toggle is **OFF** (default), the chart **combines** incoming and outgoing transfers. Only two aggregated categories are shown: **Success** and **Error.**
* **Show outcome**: this option controls whether the success/error outcome of each flow is shown in the chart. It is enabled by default and outcome indicators (i.e., success and error) are visible.

When both options are enabled, the graph will be displayed with different colors and a legend will appear on the right of the graph.

### Filter

This option allows you to use filters to refine the data displayed on the card:

* **Filename**: Enter the name of the file for which you want to know the size of the files transferred.
* **Mode**: If you want to know the status of transfers in which Data One has actively retrieved files from the producer or sent files to the consumer, select Client. If you want to know the status of transfers in which Data One has passively received files from the producer or has made files available to the consumer, select Server.\
 **Note**: The **Mode** filter is not applicable when **System type** is **Spazio MFT/s (sp)**. Using these filters together does not return any data.
* **Protocol**: Select one protocol choosing among those listed. Once the filter is applied, the card will display only the results that match the selected criterion and a funnel icon will appear to indicate that the results are a subset of the total.
* **Peer**: Enter the name of the peer for which you want to know the size of the files transferred.
* **Cluster**: Enter the name of the cluster for which you want to know the size of the files transferred.
* **Outcome**: Select SUCCESS, FAILURE or ERROR. Once the filter is applied, the card will display only the results that match the selected criterion.
* **System type**: Select the system or application that generated the monitored events and sent them to DataWatcher, either directly or through a DWAgent. This option identifies the source platform responsible for originating the events.
* **Source**: If you want to know the size of all the files started from a specific source, enter the name of the source in this field.
* **Destination**: If you want to know the size of all the files that arrived at a specific destination, enter the name of the destination in this field.
* **Source Queue**: If you want to know the size of all the files belonging to a specific source queue, enter the name of the queue in this field.
* **Destination Queue**: If you want to know the size of all the files belonging to a specific destination queue, enter the name of the queue in this field.

In the **Filters** window, editable fields (e.g. Filename, Source, Destination, etc.) do not accept wildcard characters. These fields are case-insensitive.

If a filter is applied, the funnel icon appears in the upper right corner to indicate that the results shown are a subset of the total. Clicking the funnel icon, all applied filters will be listed. To open the **Filters** window and edit them directly, click the pencil icon.

Filters are also useful when multiple cards of the same type need to be applied to different elements. An example is the need for 3 cards, one for successful flows, one for failed flows, and one for error flows.

You **can add as many cards of the same type as you need**. They cannot be renamed but can be distinguished by the sequential number that appears at the end of the card name.

### Export CSV

This option allows you to export the list of results immediately or schedule an automatic export as a **zipped .csv file**.

#### Export tab

This option performs a one‑time export:

1. Select the **time range** of the data to be exported. The time range displayed is the global dashboard time range shown at the top-right of the application: ![](/files/CxvKzFZKKbMFTBvB6zxv)
 * Adjust the **From** and **To** dates by clicking the calendar, selecting a new date, and clicking **APPLY**.
2. Any active filters are displayed.
 * To remove all filters, click **Reset**. In this case, only the selected **Period** is applied.
3. Optionally, enable **email notification** to be informed when the export is completed. To receive email notifications, the following conditions must be met:
 * The [Mail Sender](/panorama-2.0.1/setup-and-configuration/plugins-configuration/mail-sender.md) plugin is configured.
 * The [user's email address](/panorama-2.0.1/setup-and-configuration/users-and-roles-setup/manage-users.md) is specified in the **Email** field.

#### Schedule export tab

This option automatically exports data on a recurring basis.

1. Choose the export frequency by selecting **Daily**, **Weekly**, or **Monthly** in the **Scheduling type** field.
2. Any active filters are displayed.
 * To remove all filters, click **Reset**. In this case, only the selected **Period** is applied.
3. Optionally, enable email notification to be informed when the export is completed.
 * Enter a valid email address and click the **+** button to confirm.

### Table view

This option opens the **Transfers** window, showing a drill-down of the items in the card.

{% hint style="info" %}
Any filters applied to the card are automatically applied to the **Transfers** window.
{% endhint %}

#### Transfers window

The **Transfers** window is a drill‑down view that allows you to explore the data behind a card in detail.

It displays **exactly the same dataset used to generate the card**. Any filters applied to the card (such as time range, outcome, filename, source, or destination) are automatically carried over, ensuring data consistency between the card and the detailed view.

In the **Transfers** window:

* The **Export** button at the top-left allows you to export **only the list currently displayed**, based on the applied filter (Success / Error / All / filename).
* Each view displays flow **details** such as Filenames, Sources, Destinations, Direction, Date, Size, and so on.
* **Columns** can be configured by clicking the ![](https://docs.primeur.com/~gitbook/image?url=https%3A%2F%2F2045400606-files.gitbook.io%2F%7E%2Ffiles%2Fv0%2Fb%2Fgitbook-x-prod.appspot.com%2Fo%2Fspaces%252FFouPOWj5S0ya9f5bCSIe%252Fuploads%252FprDBdfX8LVw7d5yMws4c%252Fimage.png%3Falt%3Dmedia%26token%3D82ce6957-bd43-44eb-abe9-30a30984eebe\&width=48\&dpr=3\&quality=100\&sign=b9e96cde\&sv=2) icon on the top-right corner. Columns cannot be sorted but the list can be exported in CSV format. Removing columns will not remove them from the exported file.
* A **search edit box** can be used to filter results by filename. The edit box is **case‑insensitive** and wildcard characters are **not supported**. The entire filename must be entered.
* A **toolbar** allows you to easily navigate through results.

### Color

This option allows you to select a different color for the external border of the card.

Click the **Reset** button to restore default settings.

### Remove

This option allows you to remove the card. Note that the card will be removed without any further prompting.

## Export data

You can export data in several ways:

* **From the card menu**, by selecting **Export CSV** or **Table view**:
 * **Export CSV** exports the full dataset for the selected time range. Any applied filters will be shown in the **Filters** section.
 * **Table view** opens a drill‑down view; using **Export** from there exports only the data currently displayed, including any applied filters, shown in the **Filters** section.
* **From the Flows window**, by clicking **Export**.
 * Only the currently visible dataset is exported. Any applied filters will be shown in the **Filters** section.

In all cases:

* The **time range** can be adjusted in the **Period** section.
* Applied filters are shown in the **Filters** section.
* To export the entire dataset without filters, click the ![](/files/8pVz3r95CdlJqYLE3qla) chip to remove all filters.
