# Import and export settings

To get up and running in the new Panorama environment much faster than configuring Panorama from scratch, as an Administrator you can **export Panorama settings from one installation and import them into another**.

Follow these steps:

1. Go to the **Setup** → **System** tab and click on the <img src="https://2045400606-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FFouPOWj5S0ya9f5bCSIe%2Fuploads%2F3tNdldQhvk0Sgw95Op8L%2Fimage.png?alt=media&#x26;token=1c915134-2bf9-4f3d-9d6c-93ec96a412dc" alt="" data-size="line"> Import/Export Configuration icon on the right.
2. The **Import/Export Configuration** window will open.
3. In the **Export** chip, export the plugin configurations, credentials, roles, users and/or dashboards you wish to import to the other Panorama installation.
4. A .zip file containing the selected items will be created.
5. Click the **Exports** chip in the upper right corner and locate the .zip file among the **Ready to download** files.
6. **Save** the .zip file to your local folder.

Now, you are ready to go to the second installation. Enter Panorama with your Administrator's credentials and:

1. Go to **Setup** → **System tab**.
2. Click on the icon with the up and down arrows to the right.
3. In the **Import/Export Configuration** window, click on the **Import** chip and import the .zip file.
