# File panel 🚀

The **File Panel** provides a complete overview of an individual file stored or processed in the system. It is similar to the [Folder panel](https://docs.primeur.com/data-mover-smart/virtual-file-systems-and-folders/vfs-and-folders/folder-panel) but focuses on file‑level detail.&#x20;

To show it, click the file row. From this panel, you can:

* Inspect file properties
* Browse its metadata
* Apply advanced filtering to quickly locate information

## **Header and global controls**

At the top of the panel, you will find actions and shortcuts used to manage the selected file.

* **Back arrow** – Returns to the previous page or folder.
* **File name field** – Displays the full file name (for example: `bank_1889993489719.txt`).
* **Copy path icon** – Copies the file path to the clipboard.
* **Download icon** – Downloads the file locally.
* **Delete icon** – Permanently deletes the file.

## **File information box**

This section summarizes the main attributes of the file for easy identification:

* **Path:** The full internal location of the file.
* **Extension:** File type.
* **Size:** The file’s size on disk.
* **Created:** Timestamp when the file was created.
* **Last update:** Timestamp of the most recent modification.

## **Metadata section 🚀**

The Metadata section lists all metadata assigned to the file. Each metadata item appears as a colored tag showing:

* **The metadata key** (e.g., `execution‑id`, `filename`, `protocol`)
* **The metadata value** (e.g., `01KMJ7AD4JB019T04JW1RBHZRM`)
* An optional **copy icon**, allowing users to copy the metadata value to the clipboard

The metadata items are grouped into categories to allow for quick and intuitive reading:

* **File**: metadata related to the file itself
* **Transfer**: metadata related to transfer sources and transport
* **Spazio**: metadata related to files coming from Spazio
* **Zos**: metadata related to files involving z/OS
* **Custom**: user-created metadata

{% hint style="warning" %}
**Groups appear only if at least one metadata item belonging to that group exists for the file.** Their presence depends on the metadata configured: if there is no Spazio metadata, the Spazio group will not appear.&#x20;
{% endhint %}

### **Advanced Filters 🚀**

Clicking the <img src="https://3918079328-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FOfruO8A6QGUeNQH6HXhm%2Fuploads%2FWwpflj3X6T6qEsfM59pe%2Fimage.png?alt=media&#x26;token=714d51bd-b4be-4771-87fa-0afa2406f134" alt="" data-size="line"> **Filter** icon opens the **Advanced Filters** panel where you can filter metadata based on its **group**, making large metadata sets easier to navigate.

Depending on the file’s actual metadata, the groups described in the **Metadata section** above (see previous chapter) may appear: File, Transfer, Spazio, Zos and Custom. The group appears only if at least one metadata item belonging to that group exists for the file.&#x20;

To use metadata filters follow these steps:

1. Click the <img src="https://3918079328-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FOfruO8A6QGUeNQH6HXhm%2Fuploads%2FWwpflj3X6T6qEsfM59pe%2Fimage.png?alt=media&#x26;token=714d51bd-b4be-4771-87fa-0afa2406f134" alt="" data-size="line"> **Filter** icon in the Metadata section.
2. In **Advanced Filters**, open the dropdown under **Filter by metadata's group**.
3. Select the desired metadata group (e.g., *File*).
4. The metadata list refreshes, showing only entries from that group.
5. Repeat or clear the filter as needed.
