# System workflow templates

System workflow templates, created by Primeur, are available in the **New Contract** window, when creating an input or output contract, in the **Workflows** drop-down list.

Workflow templates operate differently based on the selected [trigger](/data-mover-1.21/workflow-templates/triggers.md). **Triggers are events that initiate workflows**, and they vary widely according to specific workflow needs.
