# Configure the File Event Listener

To configure the File Event Listener, these steps are required:

1. **Define the File Event Listener Engine** in the STENG cluster, in the **Setup** section of Data Mover.
2. **Design one or more contracts** with the specific requirements for the File Event Listener in the **Design** section of Data Mover.
3. **Configure how events** occurring to files **will be monitored**, in the **Setup** section of Data Mover.
